Eco Schools is a world-wide environmental award scheme for schools. Schools taking part in the scheme are encouraged to improve their school grounds and to take part in activities to reduce their impact on the environment. Examples of possible Eco Schools projects might include:

  • Recycling paper and composting fruit waste;
  • Promoting walking to school and talking part in walk-to-school-events;
  • Encouraging healthy lifestyles by promoting healthy snacks;
  • Working to improve any aspect of the school grounds for the benefit of pupils and wildlife.
